House of Murgatroyd Entertainment (H.O.M.E.) is a production company dedicated to creating smaller-scale adaptions of the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. The works of Gilbert and Sullivan are timeless in the way that they capture humor through political and social satire, and unique in the sincere way that they capture the essence of the human spirit.
Most of our productions will be smaller in scale than the original works from which they come, including only 7-10 cast members, and a small band of musicians. We have assembled a professional company of seasoned Gilbert and Sullivan performers, singers, actors, directors, designers, and musicians, all of whom have prestigious credits, and are accomplished artists in their own right. Our goal is to produce all 13 of the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas and make these works accessible to New York audiences, regional audiences, and to continue participation in the Fringe Festival of The International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival.
We are dedicated to keeping the works of Gilbert and Sullivan alive and will be producing these works in a way that stays true to the traditions and original intent of the operettas, while at the same time re-imagining these works in a more intimate setting, and sharing them with modern-day audiences, adults and children alike, in an effort to bring new audience members to the genre.
